I read about OCZ memory not being compatible in some Asus boards and since I already have the memory and will be getting the P5W dh deluxe I wanted to find out if the memory will work in it. I found a table that lists the OCZ DDR2 800 with the 512mb stick. I have 2x1gb sticks of the platinum. I should be ok, right?
All that matters is that either (a) the vendor or (b) the manufacturer stands behind the RAM and is willing to swap it for something that works. Thus, check your vendor's return/exchange policy and ask the manufacturer (OCZ in your case) the same. In particular, ask OCZ if the RAM (include actual part number) will work on your MB (include name & part number).
I had a pair of Ballistix DIMMs that wouldn't allow my MB to complete POST (not defective, just incompatible), so Crucial swapped them for a newer revision (same part number!) that works fine.
