Extremists of all types and creeds are morons. This is just entertainment to me.

Reply to dasickninja

As far as I know, true crucifixion was done by driving the spikes just below the wrist. If it went through the hands, the weight of the person would eventually force the spike to rip through the flesh of the hand causing them to fall off. Just below the wrist ensured that they would stay until taken down, even after the body starts to decompose.

Reply to Anoobis

They also tied the hands and gave a little stand for the feet to rest on barely.

Even funnier, this is the guy's 12th time doing it.

Reply to Riser

some very good advice in that song.

i have heard of this before, personally even if there were a god i can't see them even giving a damn whether they do that or not.

Reply to strangestranger

Cilice belts have been around for a long long time. I think that is a pretty extremist thing to do, but crucifixion is truly taking it too far.

Reply to tool_462

I'm watching my brother's dog while he's on vacation.. and I noticed this morning that its collar is just like one of those belts. If you pull on it, like 50 ends jab into the dog's neck. What kind of sick training device is that?

Reply to Riser

you need to beat the shit out of your brother and stop harming that dog. dogs respond to instruction not pain, they are two very different things.

Reply to strangestranger

No, the dog responds to pain moreso than instructions.

I yank the chain, she yelps. I say Sit, she kind of looks at me and does her thing until I yank the chain. Then she sits.

So, you're wrong. :P

Reply to Riser

I know a guy (a hunter) that uses those on his dogs. I could never do it, a firm voice and reinforcement as a puppy will be just as effective. I think those collars are called "Gentle Leaders" by one company.

Reply to tool_462

Yeah, it really doesn't look that bad and its not sharp or anything. Its like having someone poke an unsharpened pencil into you.

The dog training place put the thing on it and it has to be pulled hard to get the things to really come out anyhow.

SS is probably a PETA person.

Reply to Riser

Probably. I have seen varying levels of stabbing ability from those things, the minor ones don't really cause pain I dont think, they just tighten up if the dog pulls too hard, but some of the ones with smaller gauge steel barbs could easily break the skin if the dog took off after an animal or something.

Reply to tool_462

only people who need those are those not able to properly train a dog.

in saying that my own one is wilful and although he understands every word i say and knows what he should do, it does not mean he does what he is told.

still, i would not harm him just because he has a mind of his own, i would have got a more obedient breed if that is what i wanted.

Reply to strangestranger

let someone try that on you and see if you like it. seriously, using pain to "train" an animal is wrong and unnecessary.

Reply to strangestranger

I agree with you. Like I said, a firm voice command and reinforcements when the dog does what it is told are all you need to train a very good dog. When you speak firmly, the dog will know you are serious and obey. Firm != yelling though.

Reply to tool_462

My wife mastered that skill many years ago

Reply to WingDing

You're welcome to her. You gormless bastard.

Reply to WingDing

I'm going to pass on that one, but I think last I heard she had a chicken fetish...

Reply to tool_462

Er...no...she has a fetish though for Chanel, Bvlgari, Prada, Dior......

Reply to WingDing

I'm all for spanking kids too. Is that wrong? I was spanked when I was little. I suppose its the same kind of learning feature eh?

Whoop your kids. That'll learn them.

Focking PETA person you are.

My aunt trains and breed dogs for a living. Don't lecture me on how to train a dog. I've been around people training animals for dog shows my whole life. I know what goes into it and I'll tell you, these collars are required to train some kinds of animals.

If the animal listens, the collar doesn't doesn't effect it. Its when the animal doesn't listen is when the collar kicks in.

Reply to Riser

you damn yanks and your peta, so i don't like abuse of anyone or thing.

i try and train my dog so he can behave in society, i do not harm an animal for my own personal pleasure(like wanting them to perform in dog shows). dogs can have a role ina human group, that role is not being someone's property which they can do what they want.

hitting anything like a dog or a child gets you nowhere. children like dogs need to be taught why they must do things not because they fear something.

i don't care if your aunt does train and breed animals, she knows damn all if that is her attitude and come to think of it, so do you.

Reply to strangestranger

Yeah, funny. She was ranked as one of the top dog show trainers several years in a row in the 90s by some dog magazine.

She's very human.. except the one that her husband shot because it bit her. They're not cheap dogs that she breeds either so that was a bit rough on the finances.

Reply to Riser

lol, that means damn all. it doesn't change the fact that harming any one or thing to make them do stuff is wrong, no argument about it IMO.

just becasue you, you aunt or some stupid dog magazine says something doesn't make it so. i have read alot of advice in those magazines and books and alot of it is rubbish.

simple fact is you will always be wrong on this one IMO.

Reply to strangestranger

your opinion sucks.

Reply to mrface

Opinions are like assholes...

And your high-and-mighty opinion don't make anything so either...

You know, one could sell tickets.

Reply to mugz

There is a market for everything. And everyone. So pray Lord, tell how do we market these tickets?

Reply to dasickninja

Simple - launch a crusade!

Agh! Advertising campaign! My bad.

don't listen to me as i know nothing.

You, sir, are a douchebag.

When it comes to dogs / kids, you can't make a blanket statement on how to "train" them.

I would agree that a touch of pain / fear is wrong, but it can be necessary at times.

So fuck off.

Reply to JustPlainJef

I stabbed the dog in the eye with a stick last night. It wouldn't stop staring at me. /not a real statement, just as the shooting the dog because it bit my aunt was also false.

Reply to Riser

Animals respond best to being rewarded for good behaviour and being punished for bad behaviour. Only rewarding turns the animal into a sad, pathetic thing only good for ornamentation, and only punishing turns the animal into a sad, vicious psychotic.

Reply to mugz

Like training a child. No animal in the wild is rewarded for stupidity.

Reply to dasickninja

Except sheep, who get "rewarded" by the Welsh.

Reply to llama_man

Or llamas, who get 'rewarded' by the Wingding.

Reply to WingDing

You're on dangerous ground there... oops, too late.

Reply to mugz

don't forget us scots, we are always trying to shag animals. hell, not long ago a guy was ordered to seek treatment for trying to hump a horse, he even brought a little step ladder to aid himself.

Reply to strangestranger

So why did he need treatment? [/normalised deviancy]

Reply to WingDing

How's the treatment going?

Reply to Riser

He's in Pony Pulling 101 now.........

Reply to RCPilot

i prefer chicken's to horses now you mention, it. now everyone will know why you cannot sit still for a moment.

Reply to strangestranger
