Can someone help me out here? I here of people running BF2 running at 1280x1024 with a similar setup as me. I can barely run it at 1024x768. It runs like garbage on my system when Oblivion runs perfectly fine max settings with HDR no AA/AF.

Specs.

M2N32-SLI Deluxe
3500+ OC to 2.6Ghz.
Kingston ValueSelect 2x512MB 533Mhz.
eVGA 7900GT KO
WD 250Gig HD.
Sonata II Case 450W PS.

I have a feeling it's probably my memory, I was waiting for prices to drop on the Corsair 2Gig. 6400C4 before I bought some decent RAM. Anyway, Thanks.

Get more RAM; at 1280x1024 with SLI disabled I can play at the maximum in game settings without any problems.

try to increase your pagefile. How big is it right now?

It's not the ram, I am one of those people who played with 1gb of ram. The game ran perfect at max settings at 16x12 on wake island. My cpu speed is 2.7ghz AMD and I was using a 7800gt with 1gb ddr 333 2x512mb Hynix shitoram.

Is your problem recent, has bf2 ever run really great?

BF2 is a notorious RAM hog. Bad engine design. You will notice a big difference with another GB.

Good idea. Thats a nice cheap route but wont perform as nice as more RAM.

Control Panel > System > Advanced Tab > Under Performance Settings click Settings. > Advanced Tab > Under Virtual Mem click Change

Now you have some options...
Its best to get the page file off the XP installation drive. If you dont have another drive then its fine.
Take whatever is recommended and double it. (i.e. 2048 to 2048)

If you decide you dont like it just select system managed size to go back to default.
