How fast can I get my computer? I want to get it between 2.6 or 2.8 and maybe 3.0 if I can. I have no idea where to start to get it OC.

My Computer:
AMD Athlon64 3700+ w/ Zalman 7700 @ stock speed
Abit AN8 Ultra
2 pair of Corsair XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) @ 2-3-3-6 DDR400
Sapphire X1600XT w/ stock cooler
Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card
Antec TruePower 2 550W
Samsung DVD+/-RW w/ Lightscribe
Lite-On DVD-ROM
2 200GB and 250GB hard drives
Cooler Master Centurion 5 w/ an added fan where the funnel was at

Is there a calculator that can tell me the numbers or what?

Reply to advcomp2019

Well you can just OC it, it depends on your mobo/cpu how high it will go.

For OC'ing try google, and then put something in like "amd overclocking guide"

I learned it that way to, and now i know allot more of OC'ing cpu's then i knew back then

there is no magic number ad combination. everyone is different.

the avrg for ur CPu is about a 2.8 OC which is +600mhz (not a small jump, takes its to rival an FX57)

just read up on what ur doing first, and for god sake.

google. there are millions of giudes.

What is memory divider because my BIOS does not have one?

I think I am reading about OC'ing and that is the only thing I do not know with my BIOS.

Reply to advcomp2019

That stands stock on 2/2 (my mobo), if i put my HTT to 244 then my ram runs at 244mhz too. So i put my mem. devider @ 2/1.66 so my ram keeps running around 200mhz. It was something like that

RAM Dividers

Does that help?

Yeah, you should get a good-to-great OC out of it. 2.4Ghz at least, expect 2.6+. Not sure how that particular mobo OCs, though...

Update:

I was playing around all day yesterday with it.

Got my CPU to 2.53GHz on stock voltage with the memory divider at 1:1 and my memory is running at DDR460 with timing at 2.5-3-3-6 and with the HTT Multi at x5. Then I ran Super PI 4M and 8M about 4 times each and MemTest 86 over night and passed.

Can I get more speed out of my computer's CPU?

Reply to advcomp2019

Well, the ultimate stability test IMHO is Prime95 for a night, 12 hours or so.

Anyways, yeah. I reckon you can possibly squeeze out some more performance, possibly 2.8 with a little higher voltage. RAM is performing very nicely, I can see. 460 at CAS2.5? Hard to find!

What are the temps? Rails are OK?

~Ibrahim~

Reply to ikjadoon

The temps was 30 to 32 on idle, and 45 to 46 on a load.

What are you talking about Rails?

Reply to advcomp2019

Good temps.

Rails are the voltages on your PSU. (I.E. You want around 12.00 on the 12V, at the least 11.7) Ignore the comment, I forgot you had a Antec 550W. Sometimes the no-name PSUs can really get weak with an OC.

How do I get Prime95 to work right?

I thought I had it going but it was benchmarking instand.

Reply to advcomp2019

You know, personally, I have no idea.

It is doing something like benchmarking. Just run it and leave it on for the night. If your rig can do Prime95 for one night without crashing, it is a unwritten rule that is 150% stable. Good luck!

I found out how to run it. I have been running it for about 8 hours at the settings and it has been going OK. I think I will keep it at 2.53GHz for now. I tried 2.6GHz, and I had a few programs lock up. I might have to play around with it more later.

I have a screen shot, but I do not have a web site that I can use.

Reply to advcomp2019

2.53Ghz is good, but I think you should be able to squeeze some more. Have you increased the voltage on the CPU yet? That usually helps some.

Well, Photobucket is good photo uploading app.

You could also CPU-Z Validate it as well.

Just lower your HT Multi and you should stop locking up. A setting of 3-4 X is just fine as nothing on your system can use all of that up anyhow. Also be sure that you lock you HD and PCI speeds (33 and 100 Mhz).....you really don't want these to run faster!

Take your RAM speed and multi by your HT setting (IE: 200Mhz X 5 =1000)...you don't want to go much over 1000 and being as low as 700 won't matter.

I OC Optron 146's to 3Ghz (1Ghz OC) useing good PSU and never need to raise volts for CPU/RAM/MB (PC P&C 510) but I also start off with DDR500 ram.

Reply to ZOldDude

I have tried that but it still locks up. I will play with it more later.

Here is a screen shot of what I got so far.

Hmm...Upping the voltage? Does that help any?

HT link is fine, hardly above spec.

I think it is your RAM. Bring the CAS to at least 3. Or lower the ratio...

Reply to ikjadoon

I will have to mess with it later. I have to fix other computers.

Reply to advcomp2019

Just do like ZOldDude said. Lower your HTT multidown a notch, make sure your HT-->Bridge frequency is locked at 200, lower your HT down one notch maybe (In my opinion). The HT link should never go over 1200Mhz max according to AMD for socket 939. It's ususually recommended that you keep it as close to 1000 as possible. A little over is better than under though. Usually you'll start getting some data corruption when it gets too high.

Maybe try a Multi of 9, lower the HT to 3. See if you can get up too or over 300. Also a memory devider might help. Ram might be holding you back. You'll definitly have to bump up voltage to a little more. Just suggestion... Good luck!
