I'm getting a 400W PS and want to know if it will power this setup (thanks in advance!!):

ASUS M2N4-SLI Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Orleans 2000MHz HT Socket AM2 Processor Model ADA3500CNBOX
XFX PV-T73G-UDD3 Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
CORSAIR XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
SAMSUNG 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With 5X DVD-RAM Write
... and what about future upgrades? Can I eventually upgrade to a dual-core Athlon 64 X2 & a 2nd GeForce7 card (SLI) on this ps? THANKS!

A wise man once said, "If thou cannot buy a 2nd video card within 60 days, thou shalt not own SLI".

No data is available on the psu, either from Newegg or the case mfr site. All we know is it's "rated" at 400w. Generic supplies are always a crapshoot that the house usually wins (not you).

Yes it is, but I always tell people buy the biggest and best power supply you can afford...

The reason? Just because you are getting a 600W power supply doesnt mean your computer will use all 600W. Your computer will only draw the amout of power that it needs. And you will have room later for future upgrades.

Never belive the peak power for Generic power supplies. There are other things that are a lot more important such as the V3.3 V12 ratings.

When I was building people computers I delt with a lot of generic power supplies that came with cases. They were terrible, some cause a lot of noise and vibration, some caused problems with the system (constant restarts on its own)

When having problems with your computer people usually think its the Motherboard, CPU, Drivers, etc... but they never think about the power supply.

Do your self a favor and get your self a good power supply.
Antec, cooler master, OCZ etc...
