I'm trying to decide on which card to get, the ATI X1900GT or the X1800XT???
Its confusing because some 1800's perform better than 1900's so I'm stuck. I start getting confused with all the suffixes-GT, XT, XTX, XL, bla bla bla.

Here are the two I was considering, even though I'm leaning more towards the 1800.
X1800XT

and,

X1900GT

And they are both around the same amount of money, so thats not a factor. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Let me say first, I'm not an expert, but I do read alot about computer products.
Here is how I understand how these cards lay out in order of performance from ATI.
x1800 GTO
x1800
x1800 XL
x1800 XT
x1900 GT
x1900
x1900 XT
x1900 XTX
x1950 XTX

If I'm not mistaken this is how they should rank, so if you want a newer and maybe just a slight bit better performer, than the x1900 GT should be the one.
Let me also say, that depending on your applications that you will be running, this might change it slightly, but it won't be much from what I've read.
I personally have the x1800xt and haven't had any issues with it, but I also haven't stressed it out yet. The x1900 GT was just released to compete with the nVidia 7900 GT model.
ATI had a gap between the x1800 XT and the x1900, especially in price so ATI released the x1900 GT. If money isn't that much of a big deal, I'm pretty sure the x1900 GT would be a good choice. Check out Tom's video section to see if you can see much of a difference in the cards.
Just my 2 cents.

X1800XT wins most benchmarks. Go for that.

Get the X1900XT right now its at about $40 more than those cards (rebates on newegg) and it outperforms them by almost double, it outperforms a 7900GT by far...
Or you could wait maybe a couple of weeks for the new cards from ATI to come out, theyll either be your best pick or lower the price of wichever one you choose. Look for reviews on anandtech.
My $0.03
