BFG 650W power supply
ASUS P5WDH Deluxe Motherboard

My BFG power supply has a "24" pin connector that gets attached to the motherboard. It's a one piece "20" pin conncector with a removable "4" pin power connector. I plugged them both into the motherboards 24 pin receptacle. That correct, right?

In the motherboard manual, it also shows a 4 pin ATX 12V receptacle, right by the CPU. I assume this powers the CPU in some way.

Is one of the 4 pin cords labled "P4" on my PSU (there's two of them) supposed to plug into that 4 pin ATX 12V receptacle on my motherboard too? And if it is, why won't it reach (i.e. cord length from PSU to 4 pin ATX receptacle is too short)????

Thanks!

ive got a true power 2 580watt antch power supple nad its also have 24 with with 4 of em removable, the 4pin labled P4 is for the one near the CPU as on all intel cpus, so if urPSU is above the motheboard it must reach, understand?

Yeah, so basically for our Intel CPU's there are 2 (or three connections) depending on you view them. One ATX 4 pin by the CPU, and one 24 pin (or a 20pin + a 4 pin) somewhere else on the motherboard. That's what I thought. Thanks.

E6600, ASUS P5WDH Deluxe, Radeon x1900xtx, 2 GB DDR800 Corsair, 650W BFG, 76GB WD Raptor

And right now it's a $2000 paperweight because I need a 4 pin 12V ATX extension cable as my power supply ATX cable can't reach the plug on the motherboard!!

I really didn't spend that much.....I kind of said 2 grand tongue-in-cheek. I'm happy with what I purchased. Nothing's going back, especially now that it's all together except for that cord. The extension cable should be arriving in a few days.
