I have a PC that is getting a "Inaccessible_Boot_Device"
on startup. I believe it has a boot sector, because we
had gotten warnings from our virus software about a trojan
a few days before this meesage popped up. So how to get
rid of it? We use Etrust from Computer Associates, but it
doesn't have a boot scan for Win 2K. What are my
options. I already booted to the recovery console and
tried. Fixboot and fixmbr, neither worked. I was hoping
to save the information, if possible, so I thought I'd
ask. Thanks in advance. Are there any free virus Win2K
boot products out there?

I doubt your problem is a boot sector virus. Fixmbr wrote the MBR and
would have erased a virus any way. Try running chkdsk /r from Recovery
Console.
