Hi,

I am building a non-SLi system around AMD X2 3800+. The system won't be used for gaming much, but would be used for mutimedia mostly (occasional video encoding and such). Am looking to buy a PCI-express 16 based video card in the $50-75 range.

Following cards are available on newegg in that range:

1) ASUS EAX550GE/TD/256M Radeon X550 256MB DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail - $55

2)PNY VCG66256XPB Geforce 6600 256MB DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail - $59

3)Sapphire Technology Limited 100141L Video CardsView Pic SAPPHIRE 100141L Radeon X1300 256MB DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail - $66

4)Leadtek PX6600TD-256 Geforce 6600 256MB DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail - $70

5)MSI RX1300Pro-TD256E Radeon X1300PRO 256MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail - $77

Which one shoud I buy? Are there any other cards that you'd recommend?

Also, amongst the same chipset based cards which will be best brand?
ASUS, MSI, Leadtek, Sapphire, Diamond, HIS?

Shall be grateful for any recommendations!

TIA,
M

Video editing - ATI

I love AVIVO and its functionality is great.

Not the greatest performing GPU's by far, but for multi-media it will do just fine. TBH anything (with the exception of the X550) would be considered sufficient. I"m basing my opinion on simple features though.

Thanks Raven. Am looking for an overall decent card in that price range.
Would a X1300Pro_based/256MB based card be a good buy in the $75-80 range? If so which brand - Asus, MSI, Sapphire or Gigabyte?

TIA,
M

256Mb is a waste on an X1300 Pro. 128Mb tops.

Those are all quality brands. Look at warranty, reviews, things included in box, etc.
