You don't want us to do a more detailed bio of our systems?

I think it would be more informative to know exactly what us readers have.

All I care about in this poll is your CPU.

I don't even care if you have a PII 300 operating at 3000MHz.

It's for a wee study I'm doing.

If you want to get more technical...

...I have a Viewsonic EF70 Perfect Flat Monitor (It came in a box)
Altec Lancing AVS300 Speakers (Retail)
Microsoft Natural Pro Keyboard (Retail)
...

In my experience Retail vs. OEM = difference in warrenty and initial working/not working percent (except Video Cards, go retail there)

I can help you with your poll.
The majority of THGC members use AMD processors.
Why?
THGC members want the best price/performance ratio.

I have my system built for performance and it occassionally locks up. After investigating the mysterious lock ups I have found no program errors or system troubles logged. Therefore I am suspecting my cpu is locking up with a data prefetch error.
When it locks up nothing works. I press control alt delete and my system restarts. I check the logs and no errors are found with software, hardware or security. And it has only occurred since I swapped out my P4 Willy for a P4 Northwood. I hope it's a bios problem that will be addressed in the next bios release for my motherboard.

I almost forgot the point I wanted to make.
It doesn't matter if you like AMD or Intel. They both have benifits and they both have flaws. I think Intel just hides them better and when they're found out they have the same spin doctors the Whitehouse uses to cover them up.

That has nothing to do with this poll. Please don't start something. I want everyone who can to vote in here. I don't want discussions on "who's best" or "my Dad's bigger than your Dad."
