80mm case fans

i have 2 80mm case fans which use molex connectors, however 1 of them is 3 pin and i can also chain that up to the mobo, the problem is that they are so loud its deafening. How do i reduce fan speed?

You wanna buy/make a "12V to 7V" power adapter. That should almost half your fan speed. I'm not sure how to make one, though. It requires rewiring a power adapter. I'd just buy one for a couple bucks.

I know that Zalman has something called a fanmate that will work for your 3pin fan. There are also some splitters that will take your 4 pin to 3pin and then you can attach the fanmate. I believe they are pretty inexpensive. You can adjust the amount of voltage/noise your willing to withstand.
