I am upgrading from X300 and I need some help picking out a good, cheap card that improves greatly the performance of the former. I am not even trying to play the graphic hogs like Half Life 2,GRAW, Prey and such. I just want to play the following either better or at all:

Black & White 2
Battlefield 2141
Battlefield 2
Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars
Sims 2: Open for Business
World of Warcraft(when I can afford the fee)
Titan's Quest
Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends

Let me know if any of you guys(or gals) can help me out

for $200 u get the x1800xt off newegg.com, it is better than the 7900gt.. so yeah that would be ur best bet, i mean why spend more for a 7900gt when u can pay less and get better (x1800xt)

Sorry - you can have good and expensive, or cheap and crappy.

If you think "Good" and "Cheap" fit in the same sentence, I have a good, cheap Porsche 928S for sale; please contact me.

I have PCI-e x16 I think but I know I have PCIe. Also I am running on a dual core mobo. I wonder if that will help

What is your specific brand and model of power supply? Most high-end video cards need a seperate power connctor, and at least a 450 watt power supply with 25 amps on the 12 volt rail.

I am not sure about the power supply. This is a recent and I havent opened it yet
But I am guess around about 400-450W. It would have to be pretty beefy to power dual core.

That doesn't tell us anything. What is the exact brand and model? If you can't provide us with this informatioin, we can't help you at all.

It sounds like he's using a store bought Compaq, HP, Gateway, etc. Even if it's dual core as he stated, the PSU is most likely garbage...some generic 300 watter.
