Program not on Remove list

I have a program on my PPC called eReader from Peanut Press. It's a
Palm ebook reader I recently inadvertently installed somehow. But I
can't find any mention of it either on PPC Remove Programs, or on PC
in AS Add/Remove list. Nor is there a program installed on my PC.

I seem to have no choice but to find all its files with Resco
Explorer, and delete them. And maybe then find and delete any residual
registry references to it.

But how does this happen? How can a program get installed and leave no
uninstallation option of any sort?

I find this extremely annoying too! I installed a Softmaker demo and was
left in the same position. What I discovered, though, is that they had
the uninstall in the "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel of my PC.

One,eReader is a great choice for an ebook reader, so you might want to
leave it installed. ;)

Two: eReader doesn't install itself through the add/remove programs
functionality in the first place. The installation application on your
desktop uses a direct connection to your Pocket PC and install its files
straight into its destination folders. Therefore the add/remove
functionality in settings won't work on this app.

Thanks both. OK, with that recommendation I'll leave it installed, at
least if it causes no obvious problems. (Designed for Palm PDAs? If
so, I'd have expected trouble on a WM2003 PPC?)

But is the program somehow integrated with a commercial book source? I
confess I had little time to study it properly, but it appeared to be
saying I had no ebooks. Its file open dialogue (Book>Open) seems alien
in appearance - no folders to browse!

There appear to be so many proprietary types of ebook that I wonder if
reading on PPCs/PDAs will ever really take off in a big way...

It's the original Peanutpress reader, then Palm Reader, then eReader. There
are both PPC and Palm versions, and both are great on their platform.
eReader uses one of te best DRM solutions out there, that limits you as
little as possible in the use of books you bought.

Head to http://www.ereader.com for a wide choice in commercial books. Next
to that, also free books should be easy to find for this format.

Thought so too. And MS Reader didn't help. But with eReader I'm a happy
ebook reader. Just wish they'd release a MS Smartphone version.
