okay so this is my very first time building a computer. my budget is roughly 1200USD. the last 2 days or so i've been spending look at peoples opinions, website opinions and from what other people have purchased and their report on how it worked out. anyway here's what i got so far all i need now i *think* is the video card. i have a sound card already [sound blaster audigy 2], have a monitor, keyboard, speakers. anyway here's what i came up with. i mostly game and i don't know anything about overclocking but was hoping to learn how. that's why i decided to go with the e6400 instead of the e6600.

The total so far (not including tax+shipping) is 802.26USD. Leaving me roughly 400 for a video card, case, and other little things like grease and whatever. Do you see anything wrong with the components I have picked out? Or have suggestions on something I should change, or a link to a part listed for cheaper? Thanks for all that lend a hand in helping me build my box

Ok, I found a great graphics card for you-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130021
I did some research and this card is basically a nvidia 6800 ultra 512MB, just a tad slower. It can play all of the latest and greatest games on high settings. This is a great card and I highly recommend you get this!
$129.99 after $20.00 rebate

Also I found a good case-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811124116
I plan on getting this case for my next build and check out that monster fan, 25cm WOW!
$69.99

And don't forget an OS! I recommend XP professional-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16832116059
$137.99

Total-$337.97

Almost forgot, get two 12cm fans since the case only comes with the 25cm fan. Should only be like $3.99 at the most.

thanks for the suggestions. I had a question too. Is it worth it to go with SATA II harddrives or should I just stick with SATA150. The mobo I chose has SATA II support. Also that motherboard says it only has 1 IDE support. Does that mean I won't be able to use a DVD-RW and DVD-Rom at the same time?

The single IDE plug would allow 2 IDE devices (a master and slave) on one cable. So you would be able to use both DVD drives at the same time.

I dont see much difference in price for SATA300 so I would go for it.
