Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service Terminated Unexpectedly ...... Exit programs and logoff .... 60 second countdown starts immediately and cannot be stopped by Task Manager..... This started today on 2 machines when going on line and both these systems were just updated by Microsoft on line to update to DirectX 9.0b last week. HM-M-M-M ?????? Anyone else experiencing this cute little problem ???

Hoho, this is not a virus (wasnt in the begining, though there are worms already...), its just a bug in windows xp/2k. The reboot is just a "bonus", its happens when the attacker, who used the exploit quits from your computer. Windows is good, use it PPPP
Sorry, its just that, i dont understand... if ppl DO use OSs which famous of its insecurity and has the most bugs, why DONT the use firewalls? A simple firewall (even that shity one which integrated in xps) could save you from this happenings. The RPC exploit uses mostly the port 135.
Anyway, i think its good that this happened... ppl maybe wake up, and consider doing something about their safety (and not just runing to that stupid MS to download a patch when its already too late...)
