Now im not normlly one to buy "open box", however i know for a fact a TON of this memory got returned due to ppl not knowing it was "intel only" or that they had to go into their bios to set the timings and voltages. It also comes with a 15day warranty. What do you guys think?

I don't see a problem with open box items.

I bought an open box AIW 9800 Pro once, and it still works on my server. That was 2 years ago, I think.

Haha, that's the memory I have. Won't post with DS3. But hey, it looks like great memory. I'm going to Fry's to get a cheap stick of DDR2 and I'm going to flash my BIOS. WHat is ur mobo?

There are four different categories the Newegg uses for thier products:

Retail - Nice and shiny packaged product. Just like in any store you walk into.

OEM - Bulk items that are new and generally do not have any of the accessories found in the retail version. Software and cables are examples of items left out.

Open Box - The item has been returned for whatever reason. The customer may not have been happy or worse, the product may be defective.

Recertified - An open box item that has been tested to ensure the product does work properly.
