ok i was going to get a 7950 gx2 because i though it would be best for runing my comp at 1600X 1200 with the 6800X processor but after looking at the new update that they just posted on the stats of the 7950 gxt it shows to be 1/2 of what the 7900 gtx can to at that resolution. look for yourself on the VGA charts http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html?modelx=33&model1=519&model2=517&chart=211 then compare to this review a few months back http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/07/17/summer_2006_geforce_7_graphics_gear/page14.html

am i missing somthing here?????

different drivers will give different frame rates. and the dual GPU cards have had some driver issues.

thats prolly what ur seeing.

also some games just dont like SLi. oblivion isnt one but there are some.

You're better off waiting a couple weeks and grabbing an x1950xtx. I think price/performance wise its a bit more compelling than the 7950, not to mention the fact that it can do AA and HDR at the same time. Plus, the 7950 requires SLi profiles in order to take maximum advantage of both GPUs, and these profiles sometimes take awhile to mature as new games come out.
