Epson : The port name is illegal

Hi all,
I have a TM-T88IV printer with a USB interface. I am trying to write some VB.Net code to printout to this printer. The challange that I have is getting the thing to work.

Even when I use the OPS supplied example I receive a "Port Name is illegal" message when trying to claim the printer. The printer is working just fine using the Test Print option, but thats where it stops.

I feel like I've missed something, or havent done something, but I am pulling my hair out here.

Any assistance will be appreciated.
