i think 14MBytes/s is an (typo) error.

DSL can support downstream bandwith of up to 8 Mbits/s
& upstream bandwith to 1.5 Mbits/s (even VDSL supports 52 Mbits/s downstream).

i believe in fact your speed is something like 140KB/s which corresponds to around
1.2 Mbits/s ?

if its right, you can choice xDSL.

Cable (Rogers Hi-Speed Internet)
3mbps+ down and 400kbps+ up

Hehe, odd isn't it, but my downloads are at 14MB/s, and for instance, I dl a 52 mb file which finished in under 4 seconds....

No, it lasts throughout the entire download, but doesn't happen on every download.

i think the bottleneck its the 64 kbit/s up but 8KB/s, its not sufficient for quake ? weird.

Ok, you <i>can</i> play it but I got a ping of 200 so when I fire a rocket you can see the lagg... but it is cool to play sometimes.

I always try to connect with a fast server, even with a server with a low ping my ping is high and I get some lagg.

well, how did you find your online games servers through internet ?
maybe you could find some servers more geographically proximately ?
(this could involve a ping improvement)

I use a messenger pigeon, Its just too slow. I'm gonna have to upgrade to a falcon soon.
