So you are gonna have to do socket 939 or P4..

I'd say X2 3800+ for $150
Some $80-90 s939 mobo, like Asus A8N-E
X1800XT 256mb or X1900GT for $200
OR check Circuit City for XFX 7900GT $220 AR
This way you get very good gaming performance while getting dual-core. You can OC some if you'd like with that Asus mobo. Getting 2gb of DDR is expensive at this time. Your best bet is to ebay all your parts to save some money. Last week I won some G.Skill 2gb DDR500 for $166 so search ebay and forums(dfi-street, extreme sys, hard forum, etc.) Plus right now even the top-of-the-line DFi nf4 sli-dr is only like $90 shipped ebay

make sure your PSu is still good....

CPU:X2 - 4200+
mobo:DFI Nforce 4 ultra
memory:1gb pc3200(512x2) not ddr2 .This memory was from my previous system that i will be use.
video card: x1900gt

total = $482.98.

the DFI board will over clock that CPU easy to 2.8. its very reliable and hard wearing.

best 939 board ever made.

The reason i didn't recommend the DFi mob is because you need a GOOD power supply, and good power supplies will drive him over the limit. (note:high wattage is NOT an indicator of good PSu)besides, it's pointless to get a lanparty mobo with his generic ram.
