I thought the P5W DH supports SLI now? Especially since this based on the Intel 975BXB and Intel supposedly released chipset drivers to support SLI for nVidia? These article would seem to suggest SLI support:

I guess I'll find out this weekend if my two 7800GTX will work, if not I guess I'll have to get two X1900XTX. I was hoping to hold off on graphics card upgrades until the DX10 Vista stuff is all squared away. What is unclear -- what exactly do I need to do to get SLI working on my P5W DH Deluxe? nVidia driver update, Intel driver update, Asus BIOS/Driver update? Where do I go and what do I need to get?

Sorry bud, hate to break the news to ya, but the 975 only supports crossfire officially. You could run sli on the board but you would have to get hacked drivers for the cards. Your best bet is to get 1950 crossfire, those cards should show up in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry, but the 975X Chipset doesn't support SLI... Yet. A lot of people are hoping, including me, that with the ATi/AMD merger, nVidia will cozy up to INTEL enough to release drivers supporting SLI on the 975X chipset. I'd say it's a destinct possibility for the future. But as of this moment? No Go.

Have you actually tried SLI in this motherboard?

Someone in this forum successfully got his 7950 working using standarded nVidia drivers.

Where are these "hacked" drivers located?

the 7950 is technically one card and doesn't require the two gpu's to comminicate using the pci express bus on the mobo. And since the 975x is not an ATI product, using an nvidia card isn't going to hinder your performance.
As for these hacked drivers, google it!

I'll give 7800GTX 512MB SLI a try first -- I've seen this done on the Intel boards.

Searching for drivers...OMG what a lot of BS floating around with Russian/China links to no where, etc. etc.

This is ridiculous, it's like searching for the Holy Grail -- I wish people would put their egos aside and stick to the facts. Talk about having to put my BS filter on max when going thru all these "Driver hack" threads.

I can't believe the egos, and to top it all off, these hacks don't actually make any changes to the core drivers, just registry modifications - oh brother! Why no core driver mods, because they don't have nVidia's source code and they certainly don't appear to have enough talent to reverse engineer significant parts of the published DLLs and the like.

Ugh, think I'll just order the 7950 or go with a 1900 crossfire setup.

I'm sorry, but SLI with 2 cards just WILL not work with the 975X unless u can find hacked drivers, which is doubtful.. the 7950gx2 works with the 975X b/c it is only 1 card and the onboard SLI is handled thru the PCIe interface.

Hi Guys,

SLI does work with 975X boards with hacked drivers. Here is the link to the guys are doing it as we speak:

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=76134

and this link will provide you with further links to the neccessary files.

There are many who have done this and will attest to it at nV forums. Seems to work very well.

Kind regards
