I currently have a 7900GT 256mb, that has managed to o/c quite well, except that the RAM wont shift.

Do you guys think I should add a second 7900GT (which may as well be an identical model, no point in anything else), or should I instead look at replacing my existing with an x1950XTX?

ATi are saying a single x1950XTX will beat a 7950GX2, which is basically just two 7900GTs, and it also gives me the potential to add a second later in xfire.

Also bear in mind that if I go the SLi route, I'm stuck with hacked SLi drivers for now.

I know it seems like 2 cards vs 1, but the ATi has 48 pixel shaders, where the 7900s have 24 each, and the stock speed on the ATi is higher so hopefully I could o/c it at least as much, and it has 512mb RAM rather than 256 per card....

Are therre any games you can't play to your satisfaction with the single card?

AT this point, I'd hold off for the next gen cards if I had a 7900 GT, if games are playing OK for you...

7900GT should satisfy almost everyone. I would hold off also if I like what I'm getting from it.

Well I like to play at 16x12, and I wont be fully happy untill I'm able to run oblivion at 16x12, 16xAF and 8xFSAA :D

But I suppose wating for G80 and R600 is the most logical choice....
