Alrite, I'm not a very technical computer user, but I can usually get most things done. However, recently I have been unable to access msconfig or the taskbar. I will open the files and they will pop up for a second and then close again. When I tried to open in safe mode to see if I could fix the problem it said that system32\ntoskrnl.exe was missing. Any help would be appreciated

You may have a virus. What kind of antivirus software do you have? You must
run current-generation stuff and keep it updated regularly - also make sure
you are protected by a good firewall from the Internet.

See if the online scan at http://housecall.antivirus.com can find
anything....assuming you can get there.
