can't uninstall programs

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.file_system (More info?)

I can't install a program because I get the following
error message "Virtual Device Driver Invalid". Also I
can't uninstall programs because of an error message
saying "the file name, directory name or volume label
syntax is incorrect". Any ideas?
