Formatting C: after installing Win 2k

Does anyone know a simple way to format the C: drive after
it has been converted to NTFS? I have Partition Magic,
but it seems to want to slice up my drive and I don't want
to do that.

To what end? Are you reinstalling Windows 2000? If so just boot the Windows
2000 install CD-Rom or setup disks.

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.file_system (More info?)

Some ways include; boot a win98/ME startup disk, run fdisk and delete all
partition information found (as long as NTFS is
primary). Or boot the Windows 2000 CD-Rom or setup disks and when you get to
the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions found, then
abort the install. Or use a utility named delpart. Once removed you can boot
the Win98/ME CD-Rom or restore CD-Rom to start your install. Make sure you
have win9x device drivers available before hand.

No, you don't need to install anything. If you've changed your mind and
decided to reinstall Windows 2000 then either boot the Windows 2000 install
CD-Rom or setup disks. The set of four install disks can be created from
your Windows 2000 CD-Rom; change to the \bootdisk directory on the CD-Rom
and execute makeboot.exe (from dos) or makebt32.exe (from 32 bit) and follow
the prompts.

When you get to the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions
found. After you delete the partition(s) abort the install, then again
restart the pc booting the CD-Rom or setup disks to avoid unexpected drive
letter assignments with your new install.
