Toward the end of Microsoft's Professional Developers' Conference here on Thursday, we sat down with the company's group product manager for Windows, Greg Sullivan, to chat about the emergence of a "big picture" vision of Windows appearing and working everywhere, not just on PCs, but on handheld devices, the back ends of digital cameras, and the ice makers on refrigerators. Connecting all these seemingly unrelated devices is a standards-driven contextual information sharing system that Microsoft - and perhaps only Microsoft - is developing. Read more

Hello

I installed a WinCESoft Remote Control II on my Axim X30high at my storage
acrd, since then i have been getting a message everytime i turn on my PDA :

Notification Error OK

Cannot execute \Storage Card\WinCESoft RemoteControl II\RemoteControl2.exe

I tryed unistall it but without sucess, doing first through Settings System
Remove Programs : I got this message:
Unistall unseccesful. The program was not removed because these files are in
use or are read-only. Tap Start > Settings > System Tab > Memory > Running
Programs tab > Stop All and Try again
\Windows\Fonts\orbitbn.ttf
\Windows\Fonts\RC.ttf

I tryed doing what this message but i have only running Activesync

I stop it and tryed again and same result.

I tryed also doing it through activeSync and says unistall succesful but is
doesn't work, i have same message Notification Error.

So i decide to reinstall it again, also use same destination, my storage
card, i got this message on my PDA :

File In Use

"\Windows\Fonts|orbitbn.ttf" is in use or is in ROM. If the file is not in
ROM, please close the aplication using the file.

Try again?

Yes No Cancel

Where YES looks remarked, if i press it don't do anything

If i press NO i got this:

File In Use

"\Windows\Fonts|RC.ttf" is in use or is in ROM. If the file is not in ROM,
please close the aplication using the file.

Try again?

Yes No Cancel

Where YES looks remarked, if i press it don't do anything

If i press NO

Is installing the program

But didn't let me unistall the program after i tryed again and again.

I tryed deleting file at my storage card, but i still get the message.

What else could i do?

Thanks

Sergio

Grab a free copy of checknotification from scarybear software, and delete
the notification that is causing you grief. Just be careful about killing
all notifications, but usually it is pretty clear.

The two fonts are locked by Windows CE and can't removed.

But there is a trick:
1. Rename the two fonts to orbitbn.ttf_ and RC.ttf_
2. Reset your device.
3. Call the uninstall tool again.

The new version (v1.12) of RemoteControl II has fixed these deinstall and
notification problems.
