How to release files locked by W2000 server without reboot..

Can anyone advise how to release locked data and
executables without rebooting the server.

The files are not in current use by any workstation, but
cannot be deleted, renamed or otherwise altered.

AV software can cause this. www.sysinternals.com has a utility that you can
use to identify what is holding the lock to the file.
