What brand/model power supply do you have? What brand/model monitor, and how is it connected to your video card? In these kinds of situations, it's often useful to "bench test" your system by taking the MB out of the case and attaching only the PS, along with RAM and video card.

and to add to that are all the cables plugged in properly (not loose)
and i guess you bought a 24 pin psu right (as i guess your motherboard has 24 pin not the old spec 20 pin)... oh yeah it wouldnt work if you hadnt

oh but one thing is the 4 pin pcie power plug connected to the 7950gx2?

Is you monitor connected through the analog or digital?
I think they default to anollog.

Do you have another video card you can test with?

SATA port getting ripped could have damaged the mobo. I reckon u will need a new mobo for sure. Not sure about CPU.

Have you tried changing the PCI-E slot you are using? Maybe you have it in a slot other than default and your cmos battery is dying.

the cmos battery isnt dead, unless it came like that, cuz its a new mobo...and as for the pci slot, it isnt that, because i used a different vid card in a pci(regular) slot, and still, its a no go, but everything is lit up and responding as in the sense of the fans spinning, and the cd-rom booting up

Not to try to insult your intelligence or anything, but you did remember to install the stand-offs in your case, right? If you did.....I'd say RMA the mobo.
