I have a problem with one of my machines not wanting to
boot and just goes to a blue screen stop error.

I have not added any new hardware nor have I changed Mother
Board.
Can anyone tell me how I can get my machine to boot just so
I can retreive important files before I reformat the drive?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance for your suggestions.

Kindest Regards

You can recover your data from a parallel install of Windows 2000

This is the most thorough document which states the
possible causes of a stop 7B. This article focuses on
Windows XP, and the stop code could happen on most
Microsoft OSes.

323919 HOW TO: Troubleshooting Stop 7e errors in Windows XP

Generally, you want to go into Recovery Console using an
installation CD, and run CHKDSK on the system drive. This
clears up most issues, but if there is a hardware or
software RAID, it may cause many complications.
