Yet another new system, any pointers?

the rest of my parts will come from the old pc. I may need to get a new power supply and possibly a new cpu fan if I do any sort of over clocking. Any thoughts on the motherboard or the system in general?

Agree with Prozac, and the stock CPU fan will be fine that comes with your new CPU.

I am restricted by a budget unfortunatly. The second gig of ram is on my list but I wont be able to afford it for another few weeks. The video card is way out of my budget though. Its another 200 bucks. If the card is that important then maybe I should think about dropping to a lower priced main board. Thoughts on that?
