I'm rather new to this, so I hope you'll bear with me. I'm a manager at a
small office (2 computers) that are connected to a server. One of the
computers had hard drive problems, so it was reformatted and Windows 2000
reinstalled. Now, I can't find my domain and/or workgroup (even thought I've
tried to map network drives, they just don't show up).The other computer is
working fine, and can log into the server, but the one that was formatted
cannot. What can I do to fix this? The two computers are connected to the
server via ethernet cards, cat 5 cables, DSL modem and router. I've contacted
my DSL provider and they are going to send me the appropriate software to be
able to reconnect to the Internet. But, in the meantime, I need to be able to
connect to the server to be able to get my assistant to enter data.
I hope I'm not asking too much, but can anyone help me? I'm DESPERATE!
Thanks for any help. It is greatly appreciated.

Desperate

You describe that one computer is reinstalled, and what networking hardware
you have, but you say nothing about the software part of your network
setup, how your network is configured, and what settings are done both on
the client and the server.

Could it be that your network settings on the client aren't adapted to your
other computers?

Without knowing more about your setup the only help I can give you is to
direct you to a good networking page on Internet. This one might help you:
