I want to buy new PC for use 3DS Max for Architecture, Interior and Product Design. I plan to buy Core2Duo E6300, 1 Gbyte DDR2 RAM and 250 GB HDD. But I don't know that what VGA Card and Mainboard is good for this application. I have budget $100-$150 USD for VGA and $150-$200 USD for Mainboard. Please help to recommend.
Please also recommend the VGA Card, if I plan to use for 3D Animation and Video Editing in the future.

Thank you.

I'm a 3D animation grad student - also currently building from scratch. I recognize that we're both on a budget, but I strongly recommend getting at least 2Gb of RAM. One Gb just isn't gonna cut it especially if you plan on ever doing any Photoshop, Video Editing, etc... (which you definately will).

As for video card... I'll let you know when I decide on something. Honestly, today's gaming cards are plenty good enough to do the work. Tom's homepage has a featured article on sub $200 cards.

Dear All,

Thank you very much for your recommend. I manage to get my new PC. I select ASUS P5W Deluxe M/B and GF 7900 GS with 256 RAM. It work quite good. ( ^ _ ^ )
