Hi,

I took my USB HD to a friend's computer to make a backup. I use
Win2000Pro and he uses XP.

The USB HD has 3 partitions: F, G and H.

When I reconnected the HD to my computer I saw on all 3 partitions a
new folder called 'System Volume Information' that was not there
before. I figured it was some XP index thing of some kind and deleted
it from G and H but could not delete it from F.

While at my friends, I had also converted F to NTFS from FAT32. (G and
H are still FAT32)

Additionally, on F there is a second new folder called 'Recycler' but
which does not behave like the Recycle bin folder which is present on
all partitions.

I have a screenshot of the tree structure if anyone is interested
(but could not post it in this group).

Do I need to keep these two new folders on F (due to having converted
to NTFS or something)? If not, how can I delete them? They don't
accept to be deleted normally or from CMD-prompt. Do I need to go into
safe mode.

Thanks.

Pierre
