I bought 3 brand new HP Office 5505 printers from HPshopping.com.
During the install of all three, I kept getting an install error
"instmsi.exe".
After much investigation, testing, and speaking with tech support, I
found that all 3 of the install CD's had bad blocks on them.
I downloaded the software from the web and voila.
I normally update the drivers with software from the web after
installing the original, b/c a lot of HP's printers, especially the
multifunctions, are very picky about install procedures.
If anyone has trouble with the Officejet 5505, skip the cd and go
direct to the web install.
