I'd recommend the X1900GT, and I've heard on some forums that the Sapphire RoHS version can be unlocked to a X1900XT. If your maximum $250 limit is strict, then I'd suggest either:
1- X1800XT
2- X1900GT
3- MSI 7900GT
Although, the MSI X1900XTX deal is the best of them all, since you get the most powerful ATI card newegg has for the price of a 7900GT.
I love my EVGA 7900GT. Its an amazing card for the $250.00 price range. Some people may say to go ATI and I totally agree with them, for a single card solution in your price range your going to get more performance from the ATI solution, but in my case I was really interested in SLI. Check out the VGA charts and decide if SLI is something your interested in, its not for everyone and is not practical for most people. I really like the 7900GT and its not the most silent card... but good luck getting a silent graphics card. I purchased two of the zalman VGA ultra silent coolers and they are awesome. good luck with your decision, I think you should get the 7900GT its a great card and a great overclocker.
There are a bunch of other retailers besides newegg that you could buy the MSI x1900xtx from and still get the rebate...there are like 20 retailers on the rebate form. I also trust zipzoomfly.com, though they are currently out of stock as well...
You can get an MSI NX7900GT for $235 after a $40 MIR.
The $200 X1800XTs have disappeared, but they'll come back, hopefully.
the x1800xt is better.. the only reason for somebody to get a 7900gt is if their case doesnt have room or their mobo doesnt have room, i just cant understand why somebody would pay more for a 7900gt over a x1800xt. if u can go a little over get an x1900xt, but if u wanna stay low ($210) get the x1800xt REMEBER THE X1800XT IS BETTER THAN THE 7900GT!!

Why do you say the x1800xt is better? Price/Performance chart On this chart, its clear that the 79000Gt is better...its cheaper and faster....did you mean the 7800GT?
That price performance cvhart is wayy off when it comes to North American prices.
X1800 XT's are cheaper than 7900 GT's, but that chart shows the X1800 XT to be MUCH more expensive at $350. In reality, X1800 XTs are closer to the $200 mark than $350. Big difference.
As far as performance, I don't know where that chart is getting it's performance benches from, but if you check reviews on the net you will see that the X1800 XT is equal-or-better-than the 7900 GT in most things.
