Hi for everyone!

I have a Pentium D 805 and i seen an article of this processor here. However my mobo isn't so good (it's a ECS P4M800PRO-M V1.0) and the memo is a Markvision (?) with a problem on the SPD (The SPD seems not conected with anything and the Everest crashes when i try to see it). The problem is i can't estabilish a overclock over 2.8GHz. When i try over 2.8GHz, the result it's only crashes in my WinXP on boot process.

So, here is my question: Anyone obtained over 2.8 on this mobo? In positive case, explain me how!!!

Thanks for everyone and sorry for my poor english, i'm brazilian and i'm glad to join this forum to help if i can!

2.8 is an excellent over clock for that MB. If it's stable, I'd leave well enough alone and be proud of a great job! :)

Edit- Sorry about the brain fart- I read 2.8, typed 2.8, but was thinking 3.8. I should know better than to try to walk (or type) and chew gum at the same time.

Dont overclock with that mobo it doesnt have pci lock.
It wont be stable.
ECS = NOT OC MOBOS - cheap mainstreem mobos

VIA P4M800 - no pci lock

to be off topic a little but i had that same combo and also the 945p-a combo but you should try the pin mods on vr forums you can bump the voltage and push it to 3.8~3.9 that will put you up near the e6300/6400

I was able to get my ECS P4M800PRO-M v2 up to 2980 and 149 FSB using PC3200 but I tried faster PC6400 (for a future better motherboard) and I have not been able to over clock it that high since.
