LOL!
And the 6800xt isn't THAT bad as long as you open some more pipelines, unless it's the NV41 core. If it is you will just have a shitty card.

You're totally blasting the card, but have you ever actually used one?
I have one in my second Rig. Scores 5002 3dmarks in 05. You want me to give the comparison link?
What i didn't mention is that it's fully unlocked
You can find X1600Pros (scroll down) for £67.99 as well as the new AGP 7600GT (scroll down) for £114.99 at OverclockersUK. The 7600GT destroys both the 6800XT and the X1600Pro.
Lol, i dont see why you people all are so obsessed with "not buying the 6800xt".
It's just a video card, it has overclocking potential, just buy it of ebay and you have a nice card to experiment with. A friend of mine had one and it got around 5000 in 3dmark05. Thats nice for the price in my opinion.

I'm just trying to make a point that the 6800XT is a crippled 6800, and it's not worth it when you can get a 7600GT for about the same price.
How many pipes have you unlocked it to?
For the record, my X600 is the most powerful GPU that I've ever used. I'm waiting for DX10 to upgrade because I want an upgrade that will blow me away.

And a 3DMark score means what?
The 6800XT is pretty much a 6600GT with a bigger name (obviously a different core). Before we continue bashing the 6800xt, we should ask what games you are playing. For the price, you definitely could get something better, but if you don't need it, there are options cheaper that will be just as good.
The only problem I really have with that card is it is 128-bit, at least look at a 256-bit one if you can.

He can join the 5000 marks 3dmark05 club now.

Its a 6600GT with a different name. You can get muh better for the price. It's a little better. Some 6800XTs have 256-bit memory. The 6600GT, like the 7600GT, was an amazing card for the price; the 6800XT is just a crapped out 6800.

This card reminds me of the 5200fx series, what a rip off !!Don't get me started on the FX series; I hate all of them with a passion.
[quote="NaDa"]6800xt is scam. Its 8 pipe GPU. Maybe if it unlocks then it would be good but it risky to buy and hope it will unlock.

If you don't want playable framerates then get the card, it's a TPOS, unless you're playing Quake II.

Yup the beloved FX serises. It was so briliand nvidia had to cheat on so many benchmarks by lovering the quality.
Anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing were slower than on the radeons as it remains today. The shaders were considerably slower then on the radeons. They were only good for the raw power, radeons were much better.

As many have said, avoid that card! 128-bit 6800XT is worse than the normal 6800XT. If that card had been a 256-bit one, it would have been OK and often able to match a 12-pipe 6800 vanilla because of it's higher clock speeds. But the slower clocked ones that are basically an 8 pipe 6800 vanilla, are outperformed by a 6600GT. But at 8 pipes and a 128-bit mem interface; it's a card to avoid even with decent ram clocks.
