A8N-VM does not recognize PCIe graphics card

According to ASUS, my MB should recognize my PNY GeForce 6600 card once installed and automatically disable the on board graphics. Well it doesn't . XP does not see the card installed and even if I disable the on board video in Hardware manager, it does not see the card. Drivers cannot be installed because is shows no PNY card installed.  
 
I'm thinking the PNY card is defective. Any help is appreciated.

I was having simalar problems with the A8N-VM CSM for my multi media compy. I found that after you upgrade the bios it fixed a lot of problems. I my self stuck a evga 6600 gt and once I updated bios it finaly worked
