speeding up adobe after effects

is there any ways you can speed up the rendering time in after effects 2.0?
how come it differs so much from premier pro 1.5??

ya a faster CPU, Premiere has way less calculations to do than After Effects. Thus it is faster.

faster hard drives.. also after effects is now on version 7.. neither premiere nor after effects are able to use up 100% cpu on my system, as they are being held back by the hard drive speed (raid 0 at 7200 x2 sata), pulling and putting multiple layers of uncompressed video. They are both rather slow compared to a higher end software with real scsi RAID attached.
