i just wanted to know what kinda temps are normal for a fx 62
i got my pc sometime in july been playing fine,
then i decided to run asus probe 2, and realized my cpu is running at
55c idle and mobo is like 49c right now, highest 54c.
i was told it running way hot, i have 3 case fans inside to,
but i ordered a zalman lcd cpu cooler and that artic silver 5 i think it was for compound.

my pc specs are
fx 62, 2 gig corsair xms2 ram, asus n590 mobo,7950 xfx vid card
sagitta gaming case.

sorry i dont recall actual model numbers and stuff.

1) Make sure heatsink / fan are properly mouned.
2) thermal compound has been applied correctly
3) Make sure your room isn't 30C , no amount of fans will help lol
4) make sure the cables inside the case are not blocking the fans that blow air into the case , if they are mounted on the side, the idea is to blow on the video cards and motherboard, .

if you checked the above, then i'm not sure what the problem might be.

If you don't have one, mount a fan blowing out the top of the case. That should relieve a lot of hot air. FX chips do run a bit hotter than the normal cpu's. What are the maximum temps that you get?

Admittedly, FX62 is a "hot" chip. You may want to try undervolting it. People have gotten good results from undervolting the chip with X2 variants. If your voltage is at 1.4V, try turning it down to 1.375, then 1.35, etc.

Most good mobo voltage iterates at .05V so you can experiment.

Nojoy follow artmic suggestions!!

Also check ur temps with the case open !

And Baron whats the use of buying an expansive high end cpu and undervolting it ? it makes no sense to me

Good move, place them well and you won't have problems. Set the cooler to Normal mode not Silent and tou'll be OK. 100% you have problems with your current installation because it's hot on load but should idle idle like all the X2s @ around 40° or less.
