If the user browses to "M:\Sales\Spreadsheets\" they can RWD the file
"Budget.xls". If they try to use Windows Explorer to search the M:\ drive
they do not get any results for "Budget.xls" or "Budget.*" or even "Bud*.*",
etc.
I did not think that IIS and Index Server would affect a file based search,
but it seems like a strange coincidence that I have recently turned on IIS
and Index Server on my W2K file server hoping to create a web based file
search page. I have not completed my work however now almost all my W2K
clients are complaining that when they use the file search function in
Windows Explorer they cannot locate files on the mapped network drive on the
file server.

shared folders to catalog. I have made a couple of cracks at creating my
customized search forms, but I have not altered the way that IIS or Index
Server function.
