x850 Pro(blems)

Got my new x850 Pro today after my old 850XT broke. SS:



As you can see there are "artifacts" all over the screen in a rather uniform pattern. Now it does this with the old drivers from x850XT, the new drivers from the pro, with all drivers uninstalled, when booted up off a Linux Live bootdisk. It does it when its posting. But it doesnt do it when it is asking me which copy of XP to load up (i have two copies XP on one comp).

Now is this another dodgy card, or do we think something else may be to blame such as the psu?

No more than 40c. Does it from cold.

It sounds like it does this almost all the time, even at POST. This card has "walk away" written all over it. You might get away with removing the heatsink and using some AS5 or even going with an aftermarket cooler to solve the issue, but IMO it just isn't worht it and you'll probably have issues down the road. After it's too late to return the card.
