Having some trouble figuring out why my new computer isn't working. A friend is helping me (since I'm no expert), but wanted to see if anyone here had some advice.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
ASRock 775 Dual-VSTA
2g Corsair DDR PC3200
2 WD Raptor 74g HDs
Radeon x850XT AGP
Dell 21" Widescreen LCD

The problem is I'm not getting any video signal. System turns on, HD's spin, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere. . . no beeps, no video. I don't have much to swap out for testing, because my old system was AMD. I've heard some people say the mobo needs to be patched to version 1.7, but I can't even get it running to patch it. Defective CPU? Compatibility issues with my vid card? I'm at a bit of a loss. Any suggestions would be welcome by this confused gal! :D Thanks!!

Try to boot up in Safe Mode. Use the F8 key (keep repeating the key press rapidly) and see if you can get any basic VGA video.

2g Corsair DDR PC3200?
Can you double check to see if its actually DDR2?

Think I found the problem out with more research. . the mobo doesn't support the x850 series in AGP, only PCI Express. . . lame.

Interesting.....
I just saw where that motherboard has both AGP and PCI-E video slots.
And it supports both DDR and DDR2
- Dual Channel DDR/DDRII memory technology
- 2 x DDRII DIMM slots
- Supports DDRII667/533
- Max. capacity: 2GB
- 2 x DDR DIMM slots
- Supports DDR400/333/266

1. Problem was: damage memory stick
2. Problem was: 4-pin 5V/12V power connector was not plug in all way in.
3. Problem was: Damage Video Card
4. Problwm was: they forgot to plug in power connector to video card.
5. Probem was: a bad power supply.
6. Problem was: Cpu fan not spinning resulted a burn powersupply.
7. Problem was: Video card was not inserted all the way in.
