I need some tune up help. I just got my ASUS P5B-Deluxe mobo, an Intel Core Duo 6700, 4 Patriot 1 Giga Ram DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) 4-4-4-12, and a MSI Geforce 7900 GT Pciex video card. Mounted all that with a 600W power supply and 2 WD 74 Raptor HD. It is working fine. The problem is that I use to have an AMD X2 4800 that was almost twice as fast as this new computer. On Windows XP Pro I run Photoshop CS2 and do some filters that took me 31 sec on the AMD 4800. On the new E6700 it is taking 50 sec! I tried some tweaks on the BIOS, but with little success. I upgrade BIOS, downloaded new drivers, and no sucess. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

Here is a CPU-Z shot:

Check if your CPU is throttling. C2D can throttle just like Pentium 4. Next thing, even DDR2 RAM can throttle if I heard correctly.
Update CS2 to 9.01 version (free download at adobe.com).
Try running some other ratio for RAM, it works better with 4:3 or 1:1.
Post your bandwidth and latency scores from Sandra.

On most Intel boards you change RAM ratio by changing the RAM speed in BIOS. It is a bit weird I know but it actually works that way.

For example, if you have 266MHz FSB then:

FSB:RAM DIV RATIO BIOS speed option
266:200 = 1.33 = 4:3 = DDR2-400
266:266 = 1.00 = 1:1 = DDR2-533
266:333 = 0.80 = 4:5 = DDR2-667
266:400 = 0.66 = 2:3 = DDR2-800

So, to run your RAM at rated speed of 800MHz with ratio of 1:1 you need FSB at 400MHz. and to run your RAM at rated speed of 800MHz with ratio of 4:3 you need FSB at 300MHz.

I hope this makes sense to you.
Everyone, if I am wrong please correct me.
