I want to build a new pc, i will be using this pc for some gaming and apps my budget is 950 pushing it.I dont have a personal perference of intel or amd, and i am planning to overclock this computer.

Here is my current rig:

768 mb of pc 2700 ram

subtotal is 902.88 with tax it's 972.86

how does it look? anything i can do to make it about the same performance but a little cheaper?
 
Here's my suggestion on a Core 2 build since you don't mind either AMD or Intel.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 <--- If done properly (and with a bit of luck) you should be able to get an overclock of up to 471Mhz on the FSB. If you use the pencil mod described in this article, you may even be able to push it to 535Mhz. Pencil modding will of course void the warrenty though. Use the pencil mod at your own risk.

RAM: Corsair XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR2-800

Video Card: eVGA Geforce 7600GT

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA2

Case (with Antec Smartpower 450W PSU): Antec Sonata II
