6800 or 7600?

Okay, time for me to update my 5200 FX! Yes, they still exist.

Anyways, should I go for the 6800 BFG or the 7600 Leadtek? Both are the same value, however the Leadtek has 128 bit while BFG has 256 bit memory interphase.

Whats the difference between the 2 and which one should I go for? I heard Leadtek has problems though..

I have the Leadtek 7600GT (non extreme version). No problems here. As a bonus, LeadTek have implemented their own cooling solution which differs from all the other 7600 coolers (which use the bog standard, noisy nvidia fan). Thus, you get the most silent 7600GT you can buy!

Hi, you didn't say whether you were looking at 6800GS, GT or Ultra. Heres a good link comparing GT performance vs the 7600GT linkage. This is a reasonable scale I think for 3 of those: 7600GT>GT>GS. If its a 6800Ultra then according to that chart and knowing the performance of the ultra compared to the GT I'd say it'd be dang close with the 7600GT so I'd go with price point then.

Thats best guess/info I can provide given that you didn't say which 6800s or whether its AGP or PCI-E. Hope that helps some

Edit: oops I see its AGP sorry, skimmed over the 5200FX part a lil too quick I guess Still stands imo that ultra or 7600GT whichever has best price you can find, peace!

7600GT would be better, the GS wouldn't be really much better.

128-bit isn't an issue with the 7600GTs, they're good even with 128-bit.

Hello there

I am a computer enthusiast from Nepal. I own small gamestation. I have several brands of cards like MSI's 7600GS & 7300GT, Galaxy's 6800XT, MSI's x1300pro & Forsa's 6600. Now I want to buy a 7600GT.

Budget is always a problem so the cheapest 7600GT I can get is Colorful's. I have been using MSI's and Galaxy's item already and they are fine - but Colorful I don't know.

I just want to know is this card good or should I go for some other card.

And also I want to know whether a 7600GT is better or a X1800GTO.

Get the 7600gt.

i have a 7600 gt from xfx no prob's i have it oc'ed but i would get the xxx edition its definetly worth the extra 20 bucks or so

In most cases 7600GT is better, but not by a huge amount. If price is close, go for the 7600GT, if there's a huge price difference, get the cheapest.

Also, X1800GTO is better for modding, and overclocking.
