I have a pentium D 805 overclocked to 3.6 with a zalman cooler, a side fan blowing air in, and two fans in the back throwing air, 2GB RAM....on regular use...
CPU usage
0-8% 45C-49C
9-50% 50C-55C
50-80% 56C-59C
80-100% 60C-65C

is that ok..or should I downgrade a bit.....

i dont know where i read it, but it said that its bad for a CPU to get over 60C....mine only gets that hot when its using 80-100%...does it use that much CPU when playin Games....?...do u guys think i should downgrade some..or not....and also..by overclockin...does it reduce dramatically the life of the CPU and RAM??..

and last questions...whats a reasonable Vcore for a pentium D at 3.6..mine its at 1.36V...and my RAM is 1.9V

Lots of people are running closer to 70c.

1.36 is good, lower the better. If thats the lowest you can go without becoming unstable, then thats the best V.

The motherboard remp sensors are wilkdly inaccurate, download Rightmark CPU clock and leave it running while you run prime95 on both cores, and see if they thermal throttle. If they do, its too hot, if they dont, its ok.

If your motherboard says 65°C then it could REALLY be anywhere from 55° to 75°, or even more in rarer situations.
