I am in the midst of a house extension which will give me a dedicated HD home cinema. I plan to base it around a MCPC in a Silverstone LM16 case. Originally I was going to get separate MB and graphics card but I read a press release somewhere about an upcoming MB based around the Intel 946GZ chipset with GMA 3000 graphics. It sounded like it would do the job even better than the Nvidea 7900GT Pure Video I was planning on and there was to be onboard HDMI with HDCP compatibility.
However I cannot find the link to the news item and can't for the life of me remember who, what or when it was. I have been trawling sites such as Tom's Hardware etc for days but to no avail. It could have been an MSI but I am not sure as I have been reading so much info over the last few weeks that my mind is turning to mush.
Anyone able to help point me in the right direction? The room will be ready for me to start wiring and installing kit in about 6 weeks so I need to start the MCPC build soon.
Unfortunately, the only GMA chipset that supports HDMI and all other advanced display features is G965. Intel calls 946GZ/Q963/Q965/G965 as "GMA 3000", but the G965 is GMA X3000, which supports those features. As the chipset/driver is not fully ready yet, the motherboards based on it will be available mid to late september.
