One other suggestion... leave the unit connected to the charger for the
same period where you locked up on battery power... one of my suspects
would be that the battery is going and that may be corrupting ram.

Thanks Beverly. I'm sitting here in my hotel room right now after having to
hard boot because it quite working today.
I noticed 2 things: 1) when I plugged it into the charger and started using
it, the backlighting was blinking and it quit again (soft boot got it back)
2)it had a very low charge and even though the light has gone from amber to
green, I still have only a 50% charge.
I'm thinking battery also. thanks!
