how do you benchmark your com?

i have seen that toms hardware benchmarks their computers and i was wandering where to download the benchmark i have googled it but cant find it is it even free? can someone tell me where it is?

If you read, you'll see that there is no one benchmark, and they also change from time to time. Professional benchmarking software is used, along with various games etc.

Fraps and BungholioMark are generally used for benchmarking gaming PCs.

I run Oblivion till my fingers bleed and my eyes can no longer focus correctly. LOL

Seriously, I don't usually benchmark my systems, but I do run 3DMark once in awhile. I do some SiSandra tests, too, for s*&ts and giggles.
